Postby tictac » Sun Apr 08, 2012 12:24 am

Ive read a lot about the use of marijana for ts and it apparently help with tics
My partner has no probs with my tics although I do. But everythinh else is affecting our relationship badly my many ocds inability to listen, going of on tangents during conversations the way what I think I always say although I dont shout things out I just say things like a norm ask conversation.
Really its every side of.my ts except my tics
does it work and would it help my co morbs
i used to smoke it a long time.ago but I cant really remember any effect as I've as in denial over ts and did everything to hide it

From what I know and is pretty much common knowledge is that marijuana does not help, but causes mental health problems. Stick to prescribed remedies.

If I decided to try it and it helped how I know it is illegal but surely the law would consider the fact if it halps my ts and the fact one of my problems is when I get something in my head I camt help but see it througj regardless.

in some countries THC is used in the suppression of tics, germany are now doing these tests.the police won,t make exemptions regarding this, next time you see your neuro , he may be able to prescribe the oil, tablet or thc spray, which is not illegal.
try not to touch manufactured skunk, some of that is sprayed with heroin,or other rubbish, more harm than good.
didn,t think i,d see this subject on here.good to talk.

Great advice from FN
I dabbled with pot in the seventies, at a time when pot was a fraction of the strength of today's stuff and not mixed with other dangerous chemicals.
I found it affected me in exactly the same way as alcohol i.e. it calmed my tics.
Interestingly, many on here find alcohol exacerbates their tics.
I agree with FN's suggestion. If you want to give marijuana a try, have a chat to your Neuro or GP.

I think sometimes when it all gets a bit much for me and my partner I wish there was something to give us a break from ts even if for a couple hours

I have found while at uni that smoking abit every now and then can really help! It helped break a few of my OCDs and helped with anxiety too! Also that feeling with ADHD where you always have to be doing something disappears and really gives you a chance to release! It's almost annoying that it makes you high.
